>Hey folks, its been awhile since Ive had the urge to write about music.. A large part of that has to do with the fact that, well I dont much care for anything new that I come across these days! Dont get me wrong or anything, Im all for having your own sound and finding your music, it just isnt mine… makes me feel like I was born in the wrong time period sometimes…
But I digress!
Ive been trying for some time to find some new and interesting musicians and in my efforts Ive gone out of the standard English/Hindi music spectrum and really delved into more global areas.
Theres some really brilliant artists out there, one of them is Sigur Ros (dont know if any of you have heard this name, doubt it but just a thought!)
Theres one song of theirs which is truly unique and has me totally obsessed ever since the first time I heard it, and its called, well.. its called Njosnavelin – which translates in the english to “Nothing Song” now believe me, I was more then a little sceptical when I saw that name first, but now I cant get it out of my mind and Ive spent the last 2 months listening to this track at least once a day!
If youre looking for brilliant lyrical content or maddening new musical notes that will break the boundaries, dont.
Its like, you know that feeling when for once life feels good and you feel like things have been up and down, but somehow its going to be ok? When youre standing in the sun with a breeze blowing and just feeling happy to be alive, even when theres so much to do and deal with… thats the moment that I picture when I hear this track… if life was a movie with a soundtrack, this would be THE track for that moment, every single time.
If you want to check it out, feel free to at the following:

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have,
Cheers all…
>I liked it, isn’t it from the ‘Vanilla Sky’ OST? Thanks!!! Always appreciate it when someone points me in the direction of some really great music.
>Feel free to write more posts with music recommendations. It’s definitely what I can relate to. Cant explain it, but just keep it up. You’re right ‘Njosnavelin’ is freakin addictive. Knew it was awesome from the time I heard it in the movie, could never track it down though. :)You should try listening to some Hans Zimmer OST music (if you havent already)
>sb:youre welcome and ill try to post on music as and when i come across it… yes this is a great and very addictive track and yes, its from the vanilla sky ost… thats where i heard it first and couldnt sit still until i found it..ive heard some hans zimmer, did you have any specific soundtracks in mind?cheers…
>Sure dude. Well ‘Gortoz a ran’ from Black Hawk Down is definitely an amazing piece to start with.
>just heard it. wasn’t too bad. can’t say i’m as peachy keen on the song as you are. but maybe that’s just for today. coz here in this godless sunless country the sun is shining and all i want is a deliriously ecstatic soundtrack to rhapsodize my life today. tomorrow when the sun bids goodbye i’ll be back to marinating my soul in melancholic melodies.
>i love sigur ros! it’s soo nice when u come across other people who’ve as much as heard of them! neat place you got here.. dude.. heh
>SB: havent heard that one, will def check it out!hobo:thats the joy of music, to each his own and to all, enjoy… how does that go? make hay, something, something… maybe you can check out “i can see clearly”, its a great track for days like the one youre describing.blow:you know, ur the first person i know thats evenb heard of these guys! nice to make ur aqcuaintance. and thanks, glad you like..cheers all…
>I have three albums of Sigur Ros. 🙂 Lots of people know the band after Vanilla Sky.
>I liked it… in fact I’m quite fond of songs sung in obscure languages, though know that I only refer to Scandinavians and their languages as obscure because of an obscure danish friend :p
>Actually there were three others, a Norwegian and a Swedish lass, and a Finnish teacher… Now the dane hated the nord (yes, a real word) one, and the nord hated the swede, who hated the dane… and they all hated the finn one…Le fin. :p
>devilled:well, youd be the first person ive known(after blow) that has actually admitting to know who they are or what that song is… renovatio:interesting… and yeah i know what you mean about the songs in certain less popular languages… cheers…
>renovatio: scandinavian languages and your danish friend will agree with me all sound like you’re talking under water. and coughing up phlegm at the same time. it i amazing that with this linguistic nut-squeeze sigur ros still manage to sound melodious.
>The joys of finding a great tune or a brilliant artist is sweet! There’s this great singer called Anna Nalick…she’s sung gems like Breathe, Catalyst and Wreck Of The Day. Check it out if you want to.Plus, Kaiser Chiefs new album Yours Truly, Angry Mob is worth a listen. Here’s to happy ears!
>hobo:”linguistic nut-squeeze”, im gonna remember that one! nice!serendipity:the song names are familiar, but cant connect her name to anything, will check it out though, thanks.. havent been to ardent on kaiser chiefs, but with such a strong recommendation, the least i can do is give it a fair shot.cheers…
